Birthday Trip to Bali

I planned a trip to Bali to celebrate my dear's birthday mainly because we really love the place and people there. Balinese are one of the warmest and most friendly people around. If you have already travelled to Bali, you don't need explanation why the island ranks among the most romantic destination. For those who haven't visited Bali yet, just imagine incredible sunsets over the ocean while dining succulent food with your significant other or enjoying some delightful massage delivered to your villa. That was what I did during our one week stay in Bali. I had 3-hours spas delivered to our villa almost everyday which makes me feel like I was living in heaven. It was a pity that my dear did not enjoy having a stranger massaging him thus he did not get to understand those heavenly moments.

Anyway, as Bali is also famous for their villas with private pools, I couldn't find a reason not to book a villa with one again for our this trip. We chose Crown Astana Villa because I really like its room design and location. The villa looks exactly like those photos that they display in their website.

We were greeted by this gorgeous looking pool upon entering...

...and this is how the pool looks like in the night.

I really feel like jumping into it again...

I like how the dinning room and toilet are connected to the bedroom with connecting doors unlike the previous villa we stayed.

The dinning room with kitchenette came with fully equipped kitchen utilities for us to cook at our pleasure. My dear would take advantage of it and do up a few simple dishes during some late nights.

The villa would serve us breakfast every morning and there were a wide variety of choices for us to choose from.

The stunning bedroom...

... that overlook the private pool.

The only issue I had with the villa was the bathroom. There wasn't enough supply of hot water to fill the entire tub and the stopper for the tub was faulty as water was able to leak through. Moreover, they did not provide conditioners and the shower floor was badly designed, making it difficult for water reach the shower drain.

Despite the bathroom issues, we still managed to make bubble baths on a few nights. However, we couldn't soak in it for long due to the lack of hot water and leakage.

Besides that, everything else about the villa was near perfect. The staffs were extremely warm, friendly and helpful. They even baked a cake for my dear during his birthday which we later shared some with them.

Aside from the villa, we went for fine dinning at the famous Ku de ta Restaurant. We got one of the best seats at the balcony where we were able to enjoy the beautiful bali sunset by the beach.

However, romance like this doesn't come cheap...

... sadly, my dear only appreciate the ambience and experience but not so much of the food. The whole dinner was 3 hours long and I guess he didn't like the long duration.

I only managed to take a few photos of our 8 courses meals before and slightly after the sunset due to the poor visibility of the food when night fell.

Our appetizer: "Fish and Chip"

Our Salad

I couldn't remember what this was called but it was delicious!

Lobster and Chicken meatball

Our desserts

Macaroons with cocktails

Overall, we preferred Potato Head over Ku de ta but I will recommend couples to dine here if you are looking for a romantic candle light dinner with an amazing view of the sunset.

I will be ending my blog post with a couple photo.

I can't help loving him more and more each year (´∀`)♡. He's a true prince for me. I hope he enjoyed his birthday as much as I did and hopefully we will be able to visit this romantic island again next year because I'm missing the paradise we had in Bali already. On the other hand, I look forward to our next trip to Osaka and Kyoto during spring next year to see Sakura blossom! We are going to make another mini-dream of mine come true together (≧∇≦)

I'm indeed a lucky girl!
